Waiting Kids

Dean – age 8– recently moved to Grand Rapids.  He is high energy and loves all activities – especially sports, board games and reading.  He loves to have someone read to him and he loves reading books himself.  He loves swimming, too.  He gets along well with other kids so he’d do great either in a one-on-one setting or a family setting.

Alex – age 6 – is a very creative boy who loves to draw, paint, make paper birds and airplanes, build with legos.  He’d like to learn to carve.  He would also like to be able to go fishing in a boat.  Alex lives in the Cohasset area. 

Alice – age 11 – is an outgoing, bright girl who wants a friend to hang out with and have great  conversations together.  She loves animals, likes movies, reading, cooking, art projects.  Just about anything.  She’s very witty and has a very high IQ.  She’ll be a delightful friend for a mentor.

Ray  - age 12 – loves four-wheelers and mechanical stuff.  He would like to be a welder when he is older.  He would like to go fishing and hunting, if possible.  His mom has a new baby and he could really benefit from having a guy to hang out and do things with. 

Alison - age 6 Do you love dancing and going to the ballet? Alison is looking for a woman or a couple who would love to go the the Reif to watch performances. She also loves riding bike, bowling and playing at a park. Oh, and SINGING!

Jason - age 9 This young man loves fishing, fishing and fishing. He would rather be outdoors than anywhere else. He needs a mentor to spend "guy" time with to be a positive male role model and help build confidence. He would love to explore new lakes in the area.

David - age 8, and Sam, age 9 – are
brothers who live in Marble. Both
are really wanting mentors to hang
out with. Both enjoy sports, reading,
fishing, swimming and bike riding.

Donny - age 9 - Donny had been matched but his mentors couldn't continue. His two older brothers have mentors and he would like his own. He is looking for a buddy to just hang out with. Go fishing wish. Go to high school sports games with.

Lauren - age 9 This young lady loves all that is girl and pinkiliscious! She is creative, loves music and definitely LOVES to read. Her current fave is about bones. We are looking for a woman who loves to explore the world.

Carl - age 10 Carl has had a female mentor but really needs a guy to hang out with. He likes woodworking, science experiments, magic tricks and board games.  He loves being outside and winter sports.

Jimmy - age 13 Ever wanted to explore N. Mn.? How about archery? This young man who like science and archeology is looking for a mentor who will help him expand his knowledge of the world.

Amy - age 12 Amy is an outside girl but can spend a rainy day playing board games. She loves to draw and listen to music. She is looking forward to a mentor who can spend one-on-one time with her.

Barbie - age 8 Barbie is an active little girl who loves horses, basketball, camping and her Wii. But she enjoyts the girl stuff, too--like painting her nails! Her mom has some serious health issues andwould like to have a mentor be able to spend some time with Barbie.

Tommy - age 11 Tommy is looking for a one-on-one mentor who will throw around the football with him as well as talk about hunting and fishing. He wants to work on a S.W.A.T team when he is older.
